The Bluetooth Radio System

چکیده
A few years ago it was recognized that the vision of a truly low-cost, low-power radio-based cable replacement was feasible. Such a ubiquitous link would provide the basis for portable devices to communicate together in an ad hoc fashion by creating personal area networks which have similar advantages to their office environment counterpart the local area network (LAN). Bluetooth is an effort by a consortium of companies to design a royalty free technology specification enabling this vision.

Comparative Analysis of Indoor Positioning System using Bluetooth and Wi-Fi
An indoor positioning system (IPS) is defined as the network of devices which is widely used to wirelessly locate objects under the same roof using radio waves, acoustic signals, magnetic fields and other sensory information grasped by mobile devices. Reliable indoor positioning is a base for emerging indoor location based services. Bluetooth Indoor Positioning System is said to be the intersec...
متن کاملFunctional Analysis of a SDR Based Bluetooth/HiperLAN Terminal Demonstrator
In our Software Defined Radio (SDR) project we aim at combining two different types of standards, Bluetooth and HiperLAN/2 on one common hardware platform. HiperLAN/2 is a high-speedWireless LAN (WLAN) standard, whereas Bluetooth is a low-cost and low-speed Personal Area Network (PAN) standard. An SDR system is a flexible radio system that is re-programmable and re-configurable by software in o...
متن کاملA Software Defined Radio Test-bed for WLAN Front Ends
In our Software Defined Radio (SDR) project we aim at combining two different types of standards, Bluetooth and HiperLAN/2 on one common flexible hardware platform. The HiperLAN/2 hardware is that complex compared to the Bluetooth hardware, that Bluetooth capability may be added to the HiperLAN/2 platform at limited cost. The question is how to do this. In this paper we first describe the radio...
متن کاملBluetooth Radio Module with Embedded Antenna Diversity
— A complete Bluetooth radio module/SiP (System-in-Package) is presented that includes antenna diversity requiring only one external antenna. The module measures only 140 ÑÑ ¾ and has an on-board diversity switch and an embedded antenna. The measured Bit-Error-Rate with and without diversity is presented for a typical indoor environment. It is shown that with the diversity radio module a divers...
متن کاملChannel selection requirements for Bluetooth receivers using a simple demodulation algorithm
In our Software Defined Radio (SDR) project we combine two different types of standards, Bluetooth and HiperLAN/2, on one common hardware platform. SDR system research aims at the design, implementation and deployment of flexible radio systems that are reprogrammable and re-configurable by software. Goal of our project is to generate knowledge about designing the front end of an SDR system (fro...
متن کاملRF Rendez-Blue: reducing power and inquiry costs in Bluetooth-enabled mobile systems
In resource-limited mobile computing devices, Bluetooth wireless technology imposes a weighty burden due to inef£cient power utilization and a sluggish device discovery process. Buttressing Bluetooth with Radio Frequency Identi£cation (RFID) technology by performing an operation we call “Rendez-Blue” alleviates these limitations. In the Rendez-Blue process, an RFID signal is used as a cue to “w...
